Unit 1 Book Report

This year 5th graders will base there book reports on genre categories. This first book report will be contemporary realistic fiction.  We've talked in class about what that means. It must be a realistic fiction story set in modern times. I consider modern times  from the 1950's to current. If your student is interested in a book set in earlier times, they can save that for our historical fiction book report.
Beside genre, there are a couple other requirements. 

• The book must be at least 100 pages. 
• The book can not have been made into a movie.
• The book should be something your child can read independently - not too hard, not too easy.

Here is the format. If you can't find a "cereal size" box in the next months, please have your student let me know. I can help with that.
